About Me

Debbie obtained a Masters in Theological Studies and was trained as a Spiritual Director at Tyndale Seminary and is certified by CCPC (Canadian Council of Professional Certification. Debbie was drawn to the ministry of spiritual direction when she began taking spiritual formation courses. When she experienced spiritual direction for herself, she was deeply touched by its non-judgmental, loving, welcome of both the directee and God. The ministry of spiritual direction has been transformational and has led her to a much deeper experience of God’s love, voice and help in loving and accepting herself. Debbie’s ministry is marked with peace – the peace that comes through acceptance of who you are, where you are and finding God right in the middle. She listens with compassion and cares deeply for the people that come to her. She is creative in her practice and enjoys nurturing an awareness of God’s presence through creative centering exercises. She holds your story in gentleness but is not afraid of sharing laughter in the midst of it all.
    Debbie posts a prayer reflection/exercise on her website each Monday. She co-teaches workshops on Spiritual Formation Using the Enneagram, leads people in small groups who want to be trained in leading spiritual formation groups, and leads various Retreats and Prayer Days. She has self-published a book, “You Don’t Have to be Perfect,” and has created Retreat in Daily Life Material for Lent and Advent that can be accessed on her website.
